Register Now for September Clinics

University School of Milwaukee Hockey is excited to announce that registrations for September Clinics are now open.  The clinics will be run by Dave Mogush and Corbin McGuire.  September Clinics are a fantastic opportunity to work on your game before tryouts for your upcoming season!

Call for Ice Hockey Officials

It’s time to start planning to officiate at the USM and MSOE Kern Center rinks for the Milwaukee Winter Club.  With the upcoming season just around corner, the process is underway to get YOU on board as one of our officials.  For returning officials, I’m pleased to have you back and look forward to working with you again.  For new officials, you will gain a greater appreciation for ice hockey, improve your skating, learn more about the game, become more confident in dealing with adults, and most important (maybe), earn a nice income as your real first paying job.   I’m quite serious about the job thing, as being an official requires you take responsibility for being on time, ready to work and interacting with adults, finding a substitute in the event you cannot fulfill your assignment, and  learning as much as you can and applying it.

Wisconsin Hockey Officials Association (WHOA )/USA Hockey  online registration to become an official for the 2017-18 season is NOW OPEN.

Here are the steps:

  1. Register as a USA Hockey  official at www.usahockey.com  (note this is a separate registration from player registration). You will receive a new rule book good for 2017-2021
  2. Join Wisconsin Hockey Officials Association and sign up for your seminar at:  www.wihoa.org
  3. Attend seminar, classroom and skating sessions
  4. Complete on-line training modules at USA Hockey.
  5. Complete your open rule book on-line test at USA Hockey.

You must be 12 years old on or before November 5, 2017 to be an official in Wisconsin.  One of the requirements is to attend as WHOA seminar. There will be two seminars in our area this season; Saturday  August 26 at MSOE and Saturday September 23 at Arrowhead.  More information about becoming an official is provided at www.wihoa.org

If you have any questions please contact me.

For our younger players, USM has brought in Mary Duecker to continue to work on power skating as she has this past season for Milwaukee Winter Club.  This will be an amazing opportunity for our younger kids to continue their growth as skaters and a great lead into September clinics and the season.

In addition to these terrific opportunities, Mary Duecker will have a weekly power hour session for all ages.

Farm Tough Skills Camp August 7th - 11th.

Farm Tough hockey will be back for two high-energy camps that focus on all aspects of player development. Always a popular offering, these camps fill up fast!
