Locker Room Requirements
Dress Code
All players are required to be dressed in a minimum of at least base layers in the locker room at all times. Players must us a restroom if they need to change base layers.
Who should/shouldn't be in a locker room
Locker rooms are for players and coaches, as well as a SafeSport locker room volunteer (see above) if a coach is not in the locker room. Locker rooms are not a place for parents to hang out before/after a game.
Atoms, and if needed Mites, can have ONE parent in the locker room to help them get dressed.
Squirts should be able to dress themselves. Although if kids need help tying skating or putting on goalie gear, we do not want to overload coaches with that burden. ONE parent per child can step in to help for a moment, while continuing to work with their child to do these things independently.
SQ/PW/BAN Locker Room Monitor/Parent Registration Requirement
A safe and welcoming environment in our locker rooms is of the utmost importance. Across WAHA, more SafeSport violations come in from off ice violations in the locker room than they do on ice. MWC strives to be a leader in avoiding any such violations. As such, we require parents to each take a turn as a certified locker room monitor. Serving as a locker room monitor (before AND after) any game or practice does count towards required volunteer credits.
All parents of Squirt, Pee Wee, and Bantam players should register as a Locker Room Volunteers (if they are not already registered as a Coach or Team Manager). To do so:
- Obtain your annual USA Hockey membership
- Click the blue Registration button in the upper right to register with MWC
- Complete your Background Screen
- Complete your SafeSport training
- Register as a MWC Volunteer (volunteer registration can be accessed from the button in the upper right and will be activated in July for each season)
Please contact your Team Manager for any other questions.
